The Whale Shark Habitat




Whale sharks are found in tropical seas although, they populate all seas around the world. They are most commonly found in Australia. Whale sharks are highly migratory animals and are found through all tropical and warm temperate seas, apart from the Mediterranean. Whale sharks are filter feeders and swallow most of their food whole. Their movement is based mainly on food abundance and breeding behaviors. "They very rarely travel into waters below 21 degrees Celcius. This means they can often be encountered in countries like Mexico, Ecuador, Mozambique, Tanzania, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines and others"(SeeTheWild)
